A Hard Rock Band, born in Ballwin, in St. Louis County, Missouri, in 1973. This Anti-Establishment Hard Rock Band was contrived amongst the 70's Bubble Gum Generation (Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I've got Love in my Tummy) (EW!) after the demise of The Beatles. Their sound was very clean, i.e., Bachman-Turner Overdrive, but their style was more "Bluesy" and Cream-Like (Sunshine of Your Love). The original members of Tandem, as far as we can tell, were, Joe Lamastus-Composer-Lead Guitar, Vince Veninga-Rhythm Guitar, Clayton Veninga-Lead Singer, Neil Ulrich-Bass Guitar, Tom Murphy -Drums. In the twilight of the group, Bob Glenn, took over duties as drummer. Tandem disappeared on February 14, 1976, and to date, no further information has been available. No pictures of Tandem survive and all that could be found, were, the lyrics of a few songs. Two ledger books, hidden behind a wall, were found at the family home of Joe H. Lamastus, in Ballwin, in 2004. One book, with some 18 pages of lyrics, was composed by someone, named Paul McClaine. McClaine is believed to be one of the many aliases of Joe Lamastus. The other book contained, a brief history of Tandem, its members and the lyrics of the 18 songs, below. It is rumored that some members of Tandem have been spotted in Missouri, now and then, but we can neither confirm or deny, these allegations. Some of the Tandem's Music survives to this day and is still played, in a few select night clubs in St. Louis County, in The Great State of Missouri. In the mean time, we will endeavor to unravel the mystery, that is,TANDEM! If you have any information on TANDEM or its members, please, contact us at: JHLamastus@gmail.com subject:TANDEM Any new information, will be posted here. Enjoy! |
