|Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president, 1901-1909, and
2nd wife, Edith Carrow. Roosevelt took the reigns, after
the assassination of William McKinley. He, himself,
survived an assassination attempt, when a bullet
passed through a metal glasses case, a small 50 page
notebook, containing a speech and 3 inches of muscle,
just short of his lung. His 1st wife Alice Hathaway
Lee is pictured in row #2, along with her tombstone
(left of center, photo #2). She is buried at the Lee
Family Plot (no relation to Robert E. Lee) in Green-Wood
Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. Theodore, a self
pro-claimed progressive, tried to wrest the reigns of
the republican party from the millionaires and
"The Robber Barons" and failed. He and his wife are
buried in a simple grave in Oyster Bay, Long Island,
