|Pick a point on the chart...Any point...Go ahead...I' ll
bet you're making less money now, then you were,
say, 10 years ago. And if you take into account, the
increase in the price of goods and services. You're
making even less. This is why the price of say,
college or a home is so much more, than it was just a
few years ago. But wages, that's another story. While
you were working for those ten years, raises came
far and few in between, while the company's products
and/or services went up in price. You can see where
this is going, right?
Now, add the fact the republicans never and I say
"never," increase The Minimum Wage, unless you
hold a knife to their throat or threaten to can their
ass. Capitalism has it's draw backs...Granted, I'm
happy with the system here in the U.S., but a few
mechanisms for the poor and the average working
stiff need to be installed. Especially, when 33% of all
Americans retire flat broke.
While practically all republicans are non-union,
(imagine that), and convince thousands of voters that
unions are deplorable, I'm a big fan of unions. Unions
give workers a voice at the work place and insure
raises happen at planned intervals. They also kinda
keep a handle on inflation.
Mostly, employers and The GOP (The Gangsters
of Politics) prefer you stay stupid, broke and without
health care. Employers because health care costs
them money and republicans, cause that money could
go in their coffers. Unions usually work the other side
of the street. In most cases, you'll find Democrats,
Liberals and Progressives aligned with unions and
workers. I'd join a union, but being a company of one,
it's not really a necessity.
Now, if you're a poor working stiff, like the rest of us
and don't have two pennies to rub together, which
political party is going to give you the best deal? The
party that wants to restrict your health care and
charge you more for it or the party that want to
expand your health care and charge you less for it?
Just answer the question! Don't over-think it. How
about a party that comes for your house, when you
can't pay your medical bills or a party that gives you
free medical insurance, because you don't make
enough money? Not really a hard choice, is it? And
how about that so called "Tax Break" the republicans
gave you? That goes away unless you're rich. That
is, if you can find it in your paycheck.
You do as you will, as for me, I think I'll hang out on
the corner with The Democrats. They've got my back.
At least, they're not trying to cut my Veteran's
Benefits or take my house. And if they decided to
give me a tax break, I'm sure they wouldn't take it
back, while the rich keep getting theirs...The
republican party is bunch of nasty bastards and
unless your rich, they're not backing your play on
much...Of course, they'll back you on Roe vs Wade,
but when it comes to nickels and dimes, schools,
insurance or social security, your on your own.
